A-Train4014 Productions returns to familiar territory: Elmhurst, Illinois.
This part of the Union Pacific Geneva Subdivision is actually the closest
to our home base from Lake Villa. Since it’s been a while we’ve made a
visit to Elmhurst, we insisted to film there one last time before our summer
railfanning season concludes. While we were out trackside, we saw the usual
Metra and Union Pacific rail traffic. Believe it or not, there wasn’t really any
train that stood out. So unfortunately, there is NO Highlight of the Day featured
in this video presentation from Elmhurst. So as a result, this marked the first time
in A-Train4014 Productions History where we did NOT feature Highlight of the Day
off the UP Geneva Subdivision. But overall, we had a solid day out trackside. The
day started off warm yet difficult to film trains during the morning rush hour due to
the sunrise. As the day progressed, the clouds started to roll in. While monitoring
the radar, there were thunderstorms looming so our crew tried their best to stay dry.
By the end of the day, it was almost perfect timing when the thunderstorms came
through Elmhurst. Luckily we were packed up by the time the storms arrived.
