Chasing SOO Line 1003

Today marks the final day we will see SOO Line 1003 in Chicago as she makes her way home to Hartford, Wisconsin. Based on its top speed and overhearing that it will be holding at Rondout for a while, we decided to head straight to Fox Lake, IL. After a few bumps in the road and being stuck in traffic, we managed to get ahead of the locomotive. In addition, we headed to Richmond, IL where we barely had enough time to set up our camera equipment. Overall, it was great seeing another steam locomotive in our area as our Railfanning Summer Season comes to a close very soon. Thanks to Steam Locomotive Heritage Association for making the event possible. It was a blast seeing SOO Line 1003 for three straight days and we had no regrets as most of us had 4-5 hours of sleep for the past three days.
