Tony Stewart Wins Sonoma 2016

Tony Stewart Wins Sonoma 2016
Created on 6/26/16

On Sunday, June 26, 2016, Tony Stewart made a last lap pass on Denny Hamlin to get his first win of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. This marks Stewart’s 3rd victory at Sonoma Raceway making a total of 8 road course victory which ranks all-time in NASCAR history. Despite the setbacks, “Smoke” was able to make it to the top again. He missed the first eight races of the season due to back injury. Tony Stewart wins the 2016 Toyota Savemart 350K at Sonoma Raceway. From everyone at A-Train4014 Productions, we would like to give a big congratulations to our favorite NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart “Smoke”, the #14 Code 3 Associates team, and Stewart-HAAS Racing on your thrilling victory!

P.S.

The videos, pictures, and music go to their respectful owners.

Lake Villa Railfanning

Another slow action packed day of railfanning when A-Train4014 Productions makes a stop at Lake Villa train station. Branden Phillips and Jacob Brugioni are back on board and we’re also joined by special guest, SamLovesTrains. We were fully hydrated and dressed comfortably for the hot day. Anyways, enjoy the show. Not very many trains but take a look of what was caught on camera.

Smoke Has Risen

Congratulations to our favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, Tony Stewart "Smoke" for holding off Denny Hamlin at Sonoma Raceway for your first win of the season. This victory marks Smoke's 49th career win and breaking an 84 race winless streak (longest in his career). Stewart's win at Sonoma Raceway also marks his 8th road course win (ranks most all-time). Big congratulations to Tony Stewart on your victory at Sonoma Raceway. Hope to see you in victory lane again this season as you're about to retire after the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.

Lake Forest Railfanning

Slow and calm day at Lake Forest in the morning. Since my crew is taking the week off, I’m still working hard to capturing trains on video. Adam Hartley (metraking192), Casey Walker (CaseyBNSFTrains), Greg Silverman (AmtrakFan90368), and Ian Fargo joins A-Train4014 Productions at Lake Forest for the weekend and you may hear/see them in some of my video shots. I’m sure we had so much fun hanging out with each other. Can’t wait to do it again very soon. Totally, worth my time and my day for sure. P.S. Mac and Cheese was mentioned because that is my code name for train and it was stuck with our day of railfanning.

So it's back the old routine at Lake Forest train station. SamLovesTrains joins A-Train4014 Productions on a nice, warm day. Just a little before noon, the action picked up fairly quickly. Train after train after train. It was a fun, busy day. Most importantly, a surprise locomotive on the Hiawatha which was awesome! Hint: This little surprise is a Heritage Unit. It’s my favorite one of all and it’s the only Heritage Unit in which I’ve seen multiple times. This Amtrak Heritage Unit on the Amtrak Hiawatha is the Highlight of the Day in this video because of an awesome hornshow.

Lake Villa Railfanning

Lake Villa Railfanning
Recorded 6/20/16

On this one brutal hot day, I made a trip to Lake Villa train station with my buddy Branden Phillips and a special guest: SamLovesTrains.  After talking nonstop about my amazing trip on chasing the Nickel Plate Road 765 The Varsity Steam Excursion, it was time to get back to the original summer routine. It was immediately busy when I got there but the heat was obviously making me weak. But don't worry. I managed to survive the heat wave and find some trains.

Long Black Train Music Video

Long Black Train Music Video
Created on 6/14/16

I’ve been thinking long and hard for the past few days about doing a little music video on NKP 765. Luckily enough I found the perfect song that fits to make it work. One of my favorite songs on my playlist is “Long Black Train” by Josh Turner. I took some of my videos of NKP 765 from Franklin Park Railroad Days and The Varsity Steam Excursion into a music video like setting. Hope you enjoy!

The Varsity Steam Excursion

The Varsity Steam Excursion
Recorded on 6/12/16

This is the day that I have waited for since high school graduation. Prior to the journey, I picked up my friends, Branden Phillips and Jacob Brugioni in the morning to get the team assembled. On the other hand, Branden’s parents will be in various locations including Fox Lake getting videos and pictures while we chase it from Lake Forest to Fox Lake which is a 30-35 minutes drive. Surprisingly, we beat NKP 765 to Fox Lake. Based on numerous information, we found a cool spot to film The Varsity leaving Fox Lake while it crosses over the Route 12 bridge. When NKP 765 departed Fox Lake, I went home for a while and then came back to Fox Lake after grabbing lunch. Finally, I returned to Lake Forest to catch it in time. Overall, the day was awesome that I didn’t want to end. Thank you to Franklin Park, Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, the Nickel Plate Road 765 crew, and my crew: Jacob Brugioni and Branden Phillips along with his family getting other perspectives.

Franklin Park Railroad Days

Franklin Park Railroad Days
Recorded on 6/11/16

This is the first time going to Franklin Park Railroad Days after hearing that Nickel Plate Road 765 will be part of the train equipment lineup. So I got up early and picked up my buddy, Branden Phillips to join the festivities. Unfortunately, the heat was starting to weaken us and luckily I packed several water bottles that are solid frozen that kept us hydrated. In my opinion, this is the most fun I have ever had in a very long time and I didn’t want the day to end. Plus I got to meet some new friends!

I made another trip to Lake Forest train station with Jacob Brugioni and Branden Phillips to catch the Amtrak Empire Builder that consisted the Milwaukee Road coaches. In my opinion, they are my favorite passenger coaches that are still in operation today. Out of all the operating coaches, I love the Milwaukee Road Cedar Rapids Observation car because of the unique trailing light. This is not my first time seeing the Milwaukee Road coaches but it was great to see my favorite coaches again. Unfortunately, Amtrak Empire Builder 8 was running over six hours behind schedule. I arrived at noon to catch it in time. It didn’t take long to find out it was behind schedule. We were all disappointed we couldn’t catch it. But we saw some trains today while trying to catch Amtrak Empire Builder 8. Once again, it was hard to pick the Highlight of the Day.
