Andrew Mangalindan and Branden Phillips represent A-Train4014 Productions
at Elmhurst, IL for a day out trackside. Even though Andrew had his chance of
catching Union Pacific 1995 (Chicago & North Western Heritage Unit), it was
time for Branden to get his opportunity of catching all UP Heritage Units. While
we were there, we stayed till around lunch hour with Union Pacific 1995 showed
up. Unfortunately, we were anticipating that UP 1995 would lead UP IG2G2. But
it wasn’t the case. For some odd reason, instead of showing up in Proviso, it had
our crew worried and Branden wasn’t going to get that chance. Suddenly,
something amazing happen as we started to pack up. We saw a touch of green on
a locomotive and we realized UP 1995 was leading a different freight train. Since
there was another freight train in front of the Chicago & North Western Heritage Unit,
it briefly stopped short of the railroad crossing in front of us and we decided to take a
short walk to get some really nice photos as well as a nice short video to include.
In addition, there were a few other trains that overtook the train as UP 1995 heads into
Proviso which became the Highlight of the Day. We certainly can’t wait to share this

A-Train4014 Productions returns to Rondout, IL on the CP C&M
Subdivision for a day out trackside. It’s been a while since we took
a day to visit Rondout so it seem like the right time to visit.
Unfortunately, we had to deal with the cold temperatures again and
it doesn’t help when there’s a wind chill bringing the temperature in
the 30’s. Because it was so windy out during parts of the day, we like
to apologize in advance if there’s anything messed up with the audio
due to the wind. While we were there, the action was somewhat
inconsistent but some or most CP freight trains took us by surprised
when some got squeezed in after an Inbound Metra train has passed.
Overall, it was a pretty good day out trackside even though the weather
was very brutal. We hope we picked the right Highlight of the Day because

Lake Forest Railfanning: Fall Colors Edition

Lake Forest Railfanning: Fall Colors Edition

A-Train4014 Productions returns to Lake Forest, IL in hopes of
filming some trains with the fall colors in the background. We’ve
been hoping to do one of these videos for a long time and we
were able to accomplish that goal out trackside. First, we would
like to apologize for not being active on YouTube lately with
regularly uploading railfanning videos. For the past couple weeks
since the month of October, we’ve been dealing with a lot of rain
and it hasn’t escaped our area for a while. Luckily, the weather is
looking a little bit better in the next few weeks and hopefully it stays
that way till the end of the month before our return trip to the BNSF.
So while we were there, we witnessed the morning rush hour. Only a
few freight trains came through just after the morning rush hour and
then a few more freight trains came in towards the afternoon. Throughout
the day, we fought through the bitter cold temperatures as well as a misty
rain shower. In the end, our Highlight of the Day topped it all off at the end
of the day because it fits with the theme of this video. We hope you enjoy

Lake Villa Railfanning

Lake Villa Railfanning

A-Train4014 Productions returns to our normal railfanning schedule after a fun
and busy September filming Milwaukee Road 261, Nickel Plate Road 765, and
Frisco 1630 as part of our first ever Steamy September segment. Because rain
was listed in the forecast for our area, we decided to take a chance and go out
trackside.  Luckily, the rain only was misty and it eventually stopped by the afternoon.
We took a chance on filming on the CN Waukesha Subdivision in our hometown of
Lake Villa, IL. We thought we would only see Metra commuter trains. However, by
the time the afternoon approached, freight trains started showing up. In fact, a herd
of freight trains begin showing up by noon and eventually stopped just in time for the
evening rush. After filming in Lake Villa, this marked the most bizzare day of filming
trains simply because so many trains came just as soon as we were trying to leave
at 3pm. Overall, it was a good day out trackside. Stay tuned next week for another
railfanning video!

This will be the last video that will be posted on our YouTube channel before the
month of October begins. So we will officially return to a normal schedule of regularly
scheduled trips out trackside. Hopefully we will return to places like Elmhurst,
Lake Forest, Naperville, and so much more before the end of the year. In the meantime,
to conclude the month of September, we would like to share a music video featuring steam
locomotives that we’ve captured that includes Nickel Plate Road 765, SOO Line 1003,
Southern Railway 401, Frisco 1630, Iowa Interstate 6988, and Milwaukee Road 261.
We certainly enjoyed putting this music video together that we ended up getting
goosebumps while we created this video. So we hope you enjoy this special music
video called “Smooth Operator” by James Coffey from the I Love Toy Trains series.
