Illinois Railway Museum: Memorial Day

Recorded on 5/28/18

For the first time ever since hiring Miles Jajich, David Dupuis, and
Aaron Gonzales, the A-Train4014 Productions team has finally met
together as a full team at the Illinois Railway Museum for Memorial Day
with honorary member, Andrew Sonkin (TheRailAviator777). While we
were there, the crew got video footages of a few railroad equipment
running around the museum property including CB&Q 9911A
(Nebraska Zephyr) and the SLSF 1630 (Frisco 1630). Last year,
our video was pretty lengthy but it will be a 12 minute video.
Because of how busy and how humid it was outside, we were limited to
filming. But overall, we had a blast and we even got a team photo in front
of Frisco 1630! Happy Memorial Day to all and special thanks to our United
States Military for your sacrifice and bravery for letting us film trains whenever
we can.

Lake Forest Railfanning

Recorded on 5/23/18

After filming in Rondout yesterday, A-Train4014 Productions
heads back to the CP C&M Subdivision at Lake Forest, Illinois
for more railfanning. Throughout the day, the action was solid.
There was at least one freight train getting squeezed in between
Inbound Metra and Outbound Metra trains. We were also testing
out one of our new camera accessories that we recently purchased:
Telephoto Lens. We did happen to sneak in a few video footages of
using the telephoto lens. It may not be used all the time, but at least
it will be with our equipment at all times just in case. Overall, another
solid day out trackside on the CP C&M Subdivision. Coming up is our
very first trip to the Illinois Railway Museum on Memorial Day! Stay tuned
next week to see how the IRM treated our crew on Memorial Day.

Rondout Railfanning

Recorded on 5/23/18

Last weekend, Aaron Gonzales officially graduated high school.
So our very own, Andrew Mangalindan took him to one of his favorite places
to film trains: Rondout, Illinois. Aaron took a Metra out of Aurora, Illinois and
then up to Lake Forest, Illinois where Andrew patiently waited. From there,
they both headed out to Rondout, Illinois already at work as a few freight trains
were able to get squeezed in front of a few Metra trains. Throughout the day,
we caught a solid amount of trains in variety. That being said, it was definitely
our best day out trackside at Rondout. After looking through all of our video
footage, they looked really well and surprisingly we didn’t have any backlit
video shots which was very satisfying. Overall, we had a blast! We can’t
wait to do Rondout again later this summer! Enjoy our action packed video
of Rondout Railfanning!

Lake Villa Railfanning

Recorded on 5/21/18

A-Train4014 Productions returns to the CN Waukesha Subdivision
in Lake Villa, IL to film trains. While it may have been raining all day,
it didn’t stop us from going out trackside. It may not have been our
best day out there but at least we were catching trains. So throughout
the video, watch Canadian National freight trains including some Metra
North Central Service commuter trains ride the rails as the rain falls. No
worries, our cameras survived just fine in the rain.

Wisconsin Railfanning

Recorded on 5/19/18

A-Train4014 Productions makes a special trip to the state of
Wisconsin with our close colleague, Elijah Jackson “EJ”
(Baltic 144 Productions). We first started our day in Duplainville,
Wisconsin where we catch CP 581 with the Lackawanna 1074
Heritage Unit and CP 286 meeting CP 581 with perfect timing.
We also found out Amtrak Empire Builder 8 had a special SOO
Line private coach on the rear. In the meantime, we headed to
Fond Du Lac and Byron for CN action while waiting on Amtrak 8
in Duplainville. In addition, we went over to Butler, WI to see some
trains on the UP. Overall, it was a fun day and stay tuned later this
week for more train videos!

Wadsworth Railfanning

Recorded on 5/17/18

The Windy City Express hosted by the Friends of the 261
was on Amtrak Empire Builder 8 today so our very own,
Andrew Mangalindan headed out trackside to catch it while
we could due to Amtrak’s new policy on special trains and
private varnish excursions, this may be the last time we seen
the Milwaukee Road coaches. We’ve caught them in Lake
Forest and Rondout so far so why not try a different location.
So we headed to Wadsworth, Illinois, the closest spot on the
CP C&M Subdivision close to home. While we were there,
the action was slow. While four freight trains got squeezed in
while we were there, it was basically Amtrak action.

Rondout Railfanning

Recorded on 5/16/18

It’s been a while since we’ve made a trip to Rondout, Illinois
on the CP C&M Subdivision. But it was great making a return
trip to Rondout and film trains for the day. While we were there,
the action was consistent. However, there wasn’t really nothing
that stood out among the train catches. But after looking through
our video footage one last time, there was something that stood
out among the rest which made “Highlight of the Day”. Enjoy the
show!

Elmhurst Railfanning

Elmhurst Railfanning
Recorded on 5/13/18

It was reported that the following Union Pacific Heritage Units:
1982 (Missouri Pacific), 1983 (Western Pacific), and 1995
(Chicago & North Western) were on the Union Pacific Geneva
Subdivision. So Andrew Mangalindan and Casey Walker attempted
to get these UP Heritage Units in Elmhurst, IL with Matthew Grentz
(SOO6061), along with Mark and Paul Ciechelski. While we were
anxiously waiting, we caught a few other UP freight trains with friendly
crew onboard. After filming in Elmhurst today, we can officially say,
“We’ve caught all six Union Pacific Heritage Units.” Even though we’re
a bit behind on Norfolk Southern Heritage Units, we were able to see a
total of twelve different Heritage Units between Amtrak and Union Pacific.
As a result, this was definitely one of our best days on the Union Pacific
Geneva Subdivision. Enjoy Elmhurst Railfanning featuring three of six
Union Pacific Heritage Units!
