I made a surprise trip to Lake Forest train station since I was in the area. It was nice to finally come back since it has been a while. It was a good variety of action especially during this brutal heat.

After taking care of some stuff for college, A-Train4014 Productions is back to filming trains again. The crew headed back to Lake Villa train station on a cool Monday. It started to get slow but then the action picked up. It wasn’t much but it was actually a good amount was seen today.

A-Train4014 Productions gets a late message from our friend on the Canadian National Railroad saying that he will pass through. So at the very last minute, the production crew raced out to Lake Villa and then to Antioch to catch him. It wasn’t a long trip but luckily, we were able to see our friend again. After seeing our friend at Antioch, we returned back to Lake Villa in hope for some more freight trains which ended our weekend.

After getting a sneak preview yesterday, I’m assuming that Friday will be much better. Turns out, it was better than I anticipated. Despite a broken tripod mount for my iPhone 6s, I managed to survive that day all thanks to the crew to reshape it to its original shape. I apologize if the video looks a little crooked but a new one will be purchased very soon before my next railfanning trip. Anyway, Casey Walker (CaseyBNSFTrains) joins Branden Phillips and the A-Train4014 Productions crew to catch some cool stuff at Lake Forest train station. I even caught some unique trains which caught me off guard. There was so much caught on camera that it was hard to pick the Highlight of the Day. After long thinking and debating, it wasn’t an easy choice but it was the one that stands out as far as hornshows are which qualifies the Highlight of the Day. From everybody at A-Train4014 Productions, we would like to wish you all a safe and healthy Happy Independence Day. This video goes to all the United States Military troops for your sacrifice. I made an unexpected visit to Lake Forest train station. Since I was close in the area, I’d thought I get a sneak preview on what to expect for the following day of railfanning back at Lake Forest. Tony Stewart Wins Sonoma 2016

Tony Stewart Wins Sonoma 2016

On Sunday, June 26, 2016, Tony Stewart made a last lap pass on Denny Hamlin to get his first win of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. This marks Stewart’s 3rd victory at Sonoma Raceway making a total of 8 road course victory which ranks all-time in NASCAR history. Despite the setbacks, “Smoke” was able to make it to the top again. He missed the first eight races of the season due to back injury. Tony Stewart wins the 2016 Toyota Savemart 350K at Sonoma Raceway. From everyone at A-Train4014 Productions, we would like to give a big congratulations to our favorite NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart “Smoke”, the #14 Code 3 Associates team, and Stewart-HAAS Racing on your thrilling victory!

Smoke Has Risen

Congratulations to our favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, Tony Stewart "Smoke" for holding off Denny Hamlin at Sonoma Raceway for your first win of the season. This victory marks Smoke's 49th career win and breaking an 84 race winless streak (longest in his career). Stewart's win at Sonoma Raceway also marks his 8th road course win (ranks most all-time). Big congratulations to Tony Stewart on your victory at Sonoma Raceway. Hope to see you in victory lane again this season as you're about to retire after the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.

Slow and calm day at Lake Forest in the morning. Since my crew is taking the week off, I’m still working hard to capturing trains on video. Adam Hartley (metraking192), Casey Walker (CaseyBNSFTrains), Greg Silverman (AmtrakFan90368), and Ian Fargo joins A-Train4014 Productions at Lake Forest for the weekend and you may hear/see them in some of my video shots. I’m sure we had so much fun hanging out with each other. Can’t wait to do it again very soon. Totally, worth my time and my day for sure. P.S. Mac and Cheese was mentioned because that is my code name for train and it was stuck with our day of railfanning.

So it's back the old routine at Lake Forest train station. SamLovesTrains joins A-Train4014 Productions on a nice, warm day. Just a little before noon, the action picked up fairly quickly. Train after train after train. It was a fun, busy day. Most importantly, a surprise locomotive on the Hiawatha which was awesome! Hint: This little surprise is a Heritage Unit. It’s my favorite one of all and it’s the only Heritage Unit in which I’ve seen multiple times. This Amtrak Heritage Unit on the Amtrak Hiawatha is the Highlight of the Day in this video because of an awesome hornshow.
