A-Train4014 Productions continues to achieve our main goal: Film trains from other locations. We made a trip to Elmhurst Metra station on the Union Pacific Geneva Subdivision for the first time. Our original idea was to head to Coal City, IL. But due to the amount of possible traffic we might hit, we decided to head somewhere within an hour distance from the headquarters. Metra trains dominated the morning portion of the day while the Union Pacific freight trains dominated the second half of the day. Overall, it was another fun day as Andrew Mangalindan and Casey Walker worked hard in the cold weather.

A-Train4014 Productions returns to the CP C&M Subdivision for some railfanning in Deerfield, IL. Even though it is not our favorite place to film, it never hurts to continue other places to film trains. The action was pretty slow throughout the day. In fact, the majority of trains were dominated by the Metra and Amtrak trains. Only two freights got squeezed in through a strange series of weather changes combining snow and rain, along with wind chills. Somehow, we survived. But overall, it was an average day of filming.

Lake Forest Railfanning: Afternoon Edition

Lake Forest Railfanning: Afternoon Edition

A-Train4014 Productions rushes over to the CP C&M Subdivision at Lake Forest, IL to catch the CP Executive Train as it makes its way to Bensenville, IL. While we’re there, we caught a few other trains and witnessed the platform of our original filming area being under construction as well. It was a really cold day as winter weather approaches. Overall, it was a successful day leading up to around 3pm as we’re not used to coming here in the afternoons.

TrainFest 2017

Andrew Mangalindan, Branden Phillips, and Casey Walker represent A-Train4014 Productions at this year’s TrainFest, the largest model railroading convention held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with Elijah Jackson (Baltic 144 Productions) and Harry Fairbanks (TheLOKRailfan). While we were there, we saw unique model railroad layouts with cool looking model trains. In addition, we purchased some new model trains ourselves. It was a great crowd on hand as we concluded our weekend in Milwaukee. Stay tuned for the CP Holiday Train and the Metra Operation North Pole.

Andrew Mangalindan and Casey Walker represent A-Train4014 Productions as we make an ultimate surprise as we head up north in Hartford, Wisconsin to attend the Santa Train featuring SOO Line 1003 featuring special guests: Elijah Jackson (Baltic 144 Productions) and Harry Fairbanks (TheLOKRailfan). Back in August of this year, the SOO Line 1003 steam locomotive made a surprise visit in Chicago for a charity event for children’s hospitals. So we decided to see SOO Line 1003 once again since this was also our very own, Casey Walker’s birthday. When we arrived, the SOO Line 1003 was hard at work doing some shunting with a few tank cars before heading through towns of Rubicon, Woodland, and Huricon, to get coal. Overall, we chased her safely and successfully in the cold weather. Stay tuned for our video from TrainFest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A-Train4014 Productions heads back to the CP C&M Sub for some railfanning but in a different location. We add Lake Cook Road to the list of other places we railfan. It was off to a rocky start as we barely missed an unknown freight train, along with heavy rain throughout the first half of the day. Once the rain cleared in the afternoon, we were on our toes as a surprise engine made its way to being Highlight of the Day from Lake Cook Road.

A-Train4014 Productions returns to Lake Forest as we discuss last minute preparations for the next upcoming trips. Stay tuned for our upcoming videos from a surprise location, including TrainFest from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the CP Holiday Train next month and hopefully the Metra Operation North Pole. While we were there, construction work on the platform continues to be worked on. It also became very busy as trains showed up from left and right. In total, we caught over 50 trains in this video. Overall, it was a cold day but yet busy at Lake Forest.
