Lake Forest Railfanning

Lake Forest Railfanning
Recorded on 10/14/17

Andrew Mangalindan and Miles Jajich represent A-Train4014 Productions at Lake Forest station on the CP C&M Sub. Our close colleague, David Dupuis (TheBoeingRailroader) joins us as we captured a few trains in the rain. Even though the weather didn’t look good at certain times of the day, we still stayed somewhat dry and capture some nice footages in the rain. In addition, we saw our friend, Rob Dargan on the job today so we were in for a treat. We were all awaiting on Amtrak Empire Builder 8 which featured some private coaches. However, it is way behind schedule and we weren’t able to catch it as it was over 13 hours behind schedule. Overall, the action was pretty solid for a weekend. Enjoy all the trains caught at Lake Forest, IL on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

Kato N Scale Automatic Crossing Gate

Kato N Scale Automatic Crossing Gate
Recorded on 10/7/17

Our very own, Andrew Mangalindan put together the Kato N Scale Automatic Crossing Gate on the N Scale layout at the A-Train4014 Productions Headquarters. He has been working on it for almost an entire day on Saturday. By the end of the day, it was finished being tested and ready to go. Overall, we’re happy about adding this special accessory to the N Scale layout. It operates just like a real crossing gate that we would see out in the real world. If you would like us to review this product or locomotives, tracks, and rolling stock, let us know in the comments. Shoutout to Antioch Model Trains and Hobby for your support and for letting us shop for our N Scale trains and accessories.

Rail Safety Week

Rail Safety Week
Created on 9/29/17

Operation Lifesaver is an organization that motivates railroad safety around the United States. The week of September 24-30 is declared as Rail Safety Week where railroad police and Operation Lifesaver instructors and representatives go around train stations spreading the word about railroad safety. Our very own, Andrew Mangalindan discusses the dangers being around railroad tracks. In addition, he talks about ways of how to be safe and how you can be a positive impact. Whether you’re filming trains, driving, biking, skateboarding, or walking around railroad tracks, remember to use caution as trains can come at any time of the day. Credit to Operation Lifesaver for the safety tips on how to be safe around railroad tracks. See Tracks. Think Train.

Lake Forest Railfanning: Rail Safety Week Edition

Lake Forest Railfanning: Rail Safety Week Edition
Recorded on 9/29/17

A-Train4014 Productions returns trackside at Lake Forest, IL on the CP C&M Sub for some railfanning in honor of Rail Safety Week. While we’re there, Metra police was present during the morning rush hour to promote Operation Lifesaver and railroad safety to Metra passengers. Also, construction workers are still present as they continue to do platform construction as it seeks improvements and an extension platform in the near future. It may not be as busy as last week, but we saw a good amount of trains during the morning portion of the day. Not as much action in the afternoon but a couple a freight trains were able to sneak their way through Lake Forest before the evening rush hour. Overall, another busy day at trackside.
