N Scale Trains

N Scale Trains
Recorded on 7/27/17

Before heading out to Lake Forest tomorrow, we ran our N Scale trains around the layout as lots was done around the layout. We decide to run all of our trains from Metra, Amtrak, Santa Fe Super Chief, and our new locomotive, Southern Pacific 4449. Enjoy the sights and sounds from the A-Train4014 Productions Headquarters as model trains click and clack along the tracks. Also stay tuned later this year for more N Scale content as our very own Andrew Mangalindan will be reviewing N Scale products such as locomotives, passenger cars, including accessories and tutorials. If our N Scale content gets a lot of views and it goes well, we may do more N Scale contents.

Grayslake Railfanning

Grayslake Railfanning
Recorded on 7/27/17

A-Train4014 Productions returns to Grayslake after hearing from our friend, Jeff Meehan that he has a surprise for us. Sure enough, his power was Metra MP36PH 417, the engine that saved us from our chase of Nickel Plate Road 765 last year on The Varsity Steam Excursion. It was kind of ironic how it happened in almost the exact location where the 765 had to wait in order to continue to the CP C&M Sub. Anyway, as always, we enjoyed seeing our friend, Jeff and having a nice conversation during his one hour layover at Grayslake station before heading back to Chicago. After seeing Jeff at Grayslake, we were on our way to lunch in Vernon Hills. However, we saw that Jeff was stopped by a Canadian National freight train. So we got ahead of his train and caught him in Libertyville on Winchester Road, not too far away from downtown Libertyville. Afterwards, we headed off to lunch and that was it.

Grayslake Railfanning

Grayslake Railfanning
Recorded on 7/25/17

It was quite a different scene at Grayslake station. A Metra SW1500 5 was working on the Fox Lake Sub nearby and was working on the flooding where it halted Milwaukee District North trains last week due to heavy rain and flash floods. It was still a pretty good day at Grayslake station, seeing our friend, Jeff Meehan before he heads back to Chicago on his inbound train.

Northbrook Railfanning

Northbrook Railfanning
Recorded on 7/24/17

A-Train4014 Productions gets invited for some railfanning at Northbrook hosted by Andrew Sonkin. In addition, our friends, Alex Ertmann, William Dube, and Ian Fargo joined in on the fun. We shared laughs and survived the approaching storms. The action started off slow. When everyone started showing up, the action picked up. Three trains “under a blanket” including some surprises on the CP C&M Sub. Also keep watching till the very end featuring another railfanning blooper.

Lake Forest Railfanning

Lake Forest Railfanning
Recorded on 7/21/17

After making trips to Grayslake and Rondout yesterday, A-Train4014 Productions goes to Lake Forest for more railfanning. As usual, the Metra and the Amtrak trains dominated the early portion of the day. After we saw Jeff Meehan on Metra train 2111, the freight action picked up. It started off with three freights under a blanket and then two additional freights meet at a perfect moment. In addition, there was a surprise locomotive that was leading one of the CP freight trains that we caught that day with our very own, Casey Walker.

Rondout Railfanning

Rondout Railfanning
Recorded on 7/20/17

After seeing our friend, Jeff Meehan at Grayslake station, we joined Miles Jajich at Rondout for more railfanning. The action was decent as a couple freight trains were able to sneak through us. The weather was pretty humid but we were able to survive on water. Overall, it was another good day of railfanning at Rondout. This is our third straight day of railfanning as we will be making it four days in a row of railfanning at Lake Forest the following day.

Grayslake Railfanning

Grayslake Railfanning
Recorded on 7/20/17

We had some spare time on our hands so A-Train4014 Productions heads out to Grayslake station to see our friend, Jeff Meehan. It was quite a surprise as he mentioned earlier today that he had a new locomotive and so we decided to stop by and see him. As always, it is nice seeing Jeff and having a nice conversation. In addition, he was happy about Andrew Mangalindan’s recovery from his heel spur injury.

A-Train4014 Productions makes a stop at Grayslake station with our friend, Miles Jajich to see our friend, Jeff Meehan. It was a decent day. Our very own, Andrew Mangalindan is doing well with recovering from his heel spur injury. We will be continuing to film trains in various locations. Stay tuned to our channel as we will have more videos coming up later this week including our trip to Lake Forest on Friday for Railfanning Day.

Lake Forest Railfanning

Lake Forest Railfanning
Recorded on 7/14/17

After taking the week off, A-Train4014 Productions returns trackside at Lake Forest station. We’ll try to railfan other locations as Andrew Mangalindan continues to recover from injury. The action on the CP C&M Sub exceeded our expectations. We didn’t anticipate this much action when we decided to come back. Andrew is getting better so we hope that he recovery will speed up and we’ll be able to railfan other locations as we’re limited certain locations due to Andrew’s injury. Overall, we had a great time with our very own, Casey Walker and our friend, Miles Jajich at Lake Forest. Enjoy the action from Lake Forest!
