A-Train4014 Productions heads to Antioch station to meet up with one of our friends on Metra: Rob Dargan. It was pretty chilly but we survived it by staying inside car as well as inside the station. In addition, we caught a few CN Freight trains at Antioch. It was a pretty short day but it was fun.
A-Train4014 Productions returns to Lake Forest station for some railfanning with Casey Walker (Warbonnet 669 Productions) and Andrew Heraver during their spring break. It was a fun time. We arrived there in the morning around 6am and then ended the day just before the afternoon rush hour. As usual, the majority of trains were Metra and Amtrak. Just before noon, the freights start coming in. As the day goes on, we also went Instagram Live. So in future events, we will go Instagram Live when we have other friends with us. Overall, it was a really fun day. P.S. We finally saw BOTH Amtrak Empire Builder trains that day so that was good to see. Hopefully the first of many times.
A-Train4014 Productions hosts its first ever Railfanning Marathon Week. We were excited to announce it on our Facebook page along on our other social media platforms. The schedule starts in the following order:
Antioch
Lake Villa
Rondout
Wadsworth
Lake Forest
“Mystery Location”
However, early in the week, we faced many difficult challenges that were mostly technical issues like battery issues and uploading file errors. The plan was to post full videos of our railfanning days in the following locations: Antioch, Lake Villa, Rondout, Grayslake, and Lake Forest. But due to technical difficulties, we decided to squeeze them into one whole video. The way it works is a couple video clips will be featured on the days of our Railfanning Marathon Week. To make matters worse, we weren’t unable to go to Wadsworth on Day 4 so we came up with a backup plan since the week wasn’t necessary going our way and we were unable to do railfan on Day 6 (Saturday) so we would have time to fix our equipment in time for any future railfanning again. Anyway, the following videos are from the following locations:
A-Train4014 Productions starts its first annual Railfanning Marathon Week very soon. Spring Break begins now. So we kick it off by going to Lake Forest station for some railfanning. Andrew Gray joins along as we caught a variety of trains throughout the day. There were some good trains that would be featured in Highlight of the Day but there was one moment in time where it involved a horn battle between two trains. Don’t forget to tune in our Railfanning Marathon Week on the week of March 20-25. Enjoy the show!
A-Train4014 Productions heads to Lake Forest station with Andrew Gray in hopes of catching Amtrak Cascades F59PHI unit that came in the night before on Empire Builder 8. While waiting on Empire Builder 7, we also caught a few other trains too. It was a pretty cold day but it was well worth it.
A-Train4014 Productions is excited to announce our first ever Railfanning Marathon Week to celebrate Spring Break. It is something that we’ve always wanted to try out. If this goes well, we may plan more events like this. Check out our full schedule on our Facebook page for more information.

A-Train4014 Productions heads to Rondout for some railfanning on a Friday afternoon. It’s been awhile since we’ve been out filming but we’re back at it again. Shoutout to Greg Silverman (Amtrak Fan 90368) for briefly joining us. You may even hear him in the background. In addition, Greg was able to fix the original crossing bell. So instead of hearing the safetran crossing bell at Rondout, Greg decided to have some fun and use the original bell while the trains were passing through. Overall, we saw a good variety of trains especially during lunch hour.
